Round 1 Rituximab & Chemotherapy Introduction to The System

Round 1        Saturday May 4th, 2013

I'm at one of the best hospitals in the country Boston MGH.

Right now I completed the first treatment of a hodge podge of medicines called Rituximab that will help me through the chemotherapy this week. Those medicines at first may cause an allergic reaction, hives, upset stomach... that sort of stuff. So far I've passed through that with flying colors which may be credited to the other medicines I was given to counter balance the effects of the Rituximab and to my iron clad stomach and the extremely hot Ghost Peppers that I enjoy eating.

The chemo started Saturday morning at 2am and I'm feeling fine. I'm more worried about losing my hair than I am about throwing up, and dealing with gut wrenching pains.

Those are some priorities huh?

Right now I Ground & Pounded one of their first major concerns which puts me ahead in points of this 15 round fight. I may only have to do 3 cycles of chemo (5 days inpatient with 16 days off). Then I have to step up to the radiation for 16 days.

With my team of doctors, nurses, coaches, real world survivors and prayer team I don’t stand a chance of falling off track. My Team at work is behind me 110% so I can recover and return stronger.

I decided to make the previous post ‘Pre-Fight Commentary’ the way I did because I wanted to demonstrate how calm, relaxed and unworried I am. With Team MGH & Team Tarallo watching my back I don’t have a dam thing to worry about and neither should you so knock your shit off if you are!

I hope that you were both educated and entertained with my commentary and the tone that I wanted to set with my fighting spirit.

You can rest assured that I might be a bit outta shape, but I’ll fearlessly stare death right in the face and bring a f’in beat down to its doorstep! I’m Not Leaving. I’m not going nowhere!

Thank you for all your support and prayers, especially you Barbara & Mr. Timolien. You’ll never understand the strength in prayer until someone prays for you!

Anthony
Team Tarallo

  4. Fight another round. When your arms are tired and you can hardly lift your hands to come on guard, fight another round. When your nose is bleeding and your eyes are black and you are so tired that you wish your opponent would crack you one on the jaw and put you to sleep, fight another round – remembering that the man who always fights another round is never whipped. Fall seven times, stand up eight!

"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
    -Isaiah 41:10
